To help you taking care of your nails, here's some essentials tips & advices :

  1. Hangnails is a reflection of dry & rough cuticle. So the golden rule is to keep your cuticles hydrated and moisturized.
  2. Remove cuticles or not ? There are 2 points of view, one is to keep cuticles as barriers from bacteria. Other point of view is to remove them on regular basis . The optimum opinion is to keep them and groom them or in other words remove them partially.
  3. The partially removal is by using creams and a wooden stick to push cuticles back wards then move the stick in circles round the base of the nail to get rid of dead skin.
  4. To have a glamorous looking nail polish
    • Make sure you have very clean nails.
    • Use a base coat that acts as a foundation and another top coat as a protector to the polish.
    • Leave round 5 minutes between coats to allow to dry.
    • Don't use nail as a tool to type or to hold things with it.
  5. The nail file is a very important item in nail care tools so it has to be soft and gentle because if it is so hard it will tear your nails.
  6. File your nails in one direction in order not to be easily broken.
  7. Yellow color on nails is caused by frequent use of nail polish you can follow this recipe to get rid of it :
    • Bleach your nails with homemade solution of 1 tbsp of hydrogen peroxide and 21/2 tbsp of baking soda mix them in a bowl and put some of the mixture under each nail and on top and leave for 5 minutes then rinse with warm water. Results guaranteed.

  2. This reminds me, I was just wondering, have you ever heard of these nail files? They work on Acrylic and natural nails. I have tried them and they are incredible! I’ve never heard of anything like them before. They are much healthier for your nails than any other nail file out there. They are made of crystal, so they are also earth friendly. They are also non-porous so they don’t absorb bacteria! I have been trying to spread the word about these things so here is their website… Top Notch Nail Files.
